In quanto tale, il</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">suo personale comprende il sottoscritto + tutti i contrammiragli e i</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">commodori (la carica di VCinC è al momento vacante).</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">Ne ho assunto il comando nell'agosto del 2001, succedendo all'ammiraglio</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">Calì, e come prima cosa ho enunciato la "missione" cui intendevo</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">attenermi: "Il ruolo di Ambientazione [...] dev'essere quello di fungere</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">da biblioteca di consultazione per tutti i giocatori di SFI,</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">comprendendo tutto quello che fa Canon, più tutto quello che i giocatori</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">stessi creano, meno le contraddizioni".</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">Quindi, coerentemente con la missione, le funzioni di Ambientazione sono</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">le seguenti:</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">1) Documentazione del Canon: conoscenza dell'Enciclopedia di Star</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">Trek, dei copioni delle varie puntate, e di compilazioni affidabili come</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">il Daystrom Institute (</span><a href="http://www.ditl.org/" rel="noreferrer" target="_blank" style="font-size:12.8px">www.ditl.org</a><span style="font-size:12.8px">).</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span class="gmail-il" style="font-size:12.8px">2</span><span style="font-size:12.8px">) Documentazione di SFI. Fondamentalmente, i rapporti di missione,</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">che andranno integrati in una specie di "Enciclopedia di StarFleet Italy".</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">3) Attività di servizio relative ai primi due punti. Ad esempio,</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">stesura del Manuale di Correzione Curricolare per Accademia; emanazione</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">di direttive specifiche su temi di rilevanza canonica (datazione delle</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">avventure, tipologia di personaggi giocanti, ecc. ecc.)</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">Molto semplicemente, le liste dovrebbero usare Ambientazione come</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">biblioteca di documentazione: ogni volta che sorge un dubbio, porlo</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">all'ammiraglio di lista. Ambientazione cerca di rispondere a tutti, se</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">possibile entro un paio di settimane al massimo.</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">Un'avvertenza che mi sento di dare a tutti è di NON fidarsi di romanzi,</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">giochi di ruolo e trallallà vari. Non tutto quello che porta il marchio</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">di Star Trek (nemmeno quello originale Paramount) vale come Canon, e in</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">caso di qualsiasi contraddizione fa testo quanto visto in TV/al cinema.</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">Va notato che finora non è stato possibile compilare una "timeline" di</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">SFI anche perché diverse sim non hanno trasmesso rapporti finali delle</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">rispettive missioni; man mano che il materiale affluisce, è intenzione</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">del sottoscritto assemblare i dati salienti e pubblicarli su SISN e sul</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">sito.</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">Onde evitare fraintendimenti, voglio chiarire che Ambientazione ha</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">emanato, nell'arco di tre anni e mezzo, la bellezza di DUE direttive e</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">DUE revisioni del Manuale. La maggior parte del lavoro è consistito nel</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">rispondere a dubbi documentativi o chiarire in maggior dettaglio</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">specifici punti del Manuale. Per quanto attiene le direttive, si è</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">trattato di un chiarimento in un settore MOLTO delicato (vale a dire la</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">menzione, nell'ambito delle nostre avventure, di riferimenti a religioni</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">del XXI secolo) e dell'instaurazione di un sistema di riferimento</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">cronologico che ci consentisse di "datare" i vari episodi delle</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">avventure di ciascuna sim.Dico questo per disperdere l'idea che</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">Ambientazione venga a microdirigere le sim, dicendo "questo sì e questo</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">no". La filosofia di Ambientazione è "a domanda risponde", e ben di rado</span><br style="font-size:12.8px"><span style="font-size:12.8px">agisce motu proprio.
